Chapter 7 - A Father's Wrath

Harrison’s entire demeanor shifted in a fraction of a second.
The calm, collected billionaire vanished.
In his place stood a furious, protective father.
He slowly turned to face Vivienne.
The look in his eyes was so terrifying that even the security guards took a step back.
“Harrison, you can’t possibly believe a traumatized eight-year-old over your future wife,” Vivienne laughed nervously.
“She’s making it up.”
“Let her go, Reynolds,” Harrison commanded without breaking eye contact with Vivienne.
The guards immediately released my arms.
I stumbled forward and ran straight to Maya, wrapping my arms around her.
“You brave, brave girl,” I sobbed into her shoulder.
“You’re telling me,” Harrison said, his voice dropping an octave, “that a child who hasn’t spoken in three years broke her silence just to frame you?”
Vivienne’s confident facade began to crumble rapidly.
“The nanny manipulated her!” Vivienne shrieked, her voice pitching up hysterically.
“She told her to say that!”
“Reynolds,” Harrison said coldly.
