Chapter 5 - The Vicious Lie

“That is a psychotic lie!” I yelled, fighting against the guards holding me back.
“I walked in and you were torturing her!”
Harrison stood up slowly, his gaze shifting between me and his fiancée.
The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife.
“Harrison, darling, you know how unstable she is,” Vivienne pleaded, stepping closer to him.
“She’s under so much stress with her sick sister.”
“She must have had a total mental breakdown.”
Vivienne was good.
She was weaponizing my personal tragedy to make me look crazy.
Harrison looked at me, his expression unreadable.
“Is it true, Clara?” he asked quietly.
“Did you snap?”
“I am completely sane, Mr. Vance,” I said, looking him dead in the eye.
“I have given my soul to taking care of your daughter.”
“I would never, ever hurt her.”
Vivienne sneered, rolling her eyes.
“Arrest her, Reynolds,” Vivienne ordered the guards.
“Get this trash out of my house before the charity gala guests arrive.”
The guards started pulling me toward the hallway.
