Chapter 16 - Healing Wounds

The next few weeks were a whirlwind of dramatic changes.

The media went absolutely crazy over the footage of Vivienne Croft being arrested.

She tried to spin a story to a gossip magazine, claiming she was framed.

But Harrison’s legal team released a statement, and the public completely turned on her.

She was officially ruined in high society, facing a lengthy prison sentence.

I moved my sister into the private suite at Cedars-Sinai.

For the first time in two years, I saw color return to her pale cheeks.

The world-class doctors gave us a highly optimistic prognosis.

She was going to survive, all thanks to Harrison’s incredible generosity.

Meanwhile, I settled into my new role at the Vance estate.

I was no longer just the invisible nanny in the background.

I managed the entire staff, planned the schedules, and most importantly, I spent every day with Maya.

The house no longer felt like a cold, empty museum.

It felt like a home filled with warmth and laughter.

But the biggest change of all wasn't the money or the promotion.

It was Maya.
