Chapter 20 - The Perfect Ending

A year later, the scent of burning hair was nothing but a distant, faded memory.

It was replaced by the smell of ocean salt, blooming jasmine, and fresh coffee.

I stood in front of the mirror in the master bedroom, adjusting the delicate diamond necklace around my throat.

Harrison walked up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pressing a soft kiss to my neck.

“You look breathtaking,” he murmured.

“Are you ready?” I asked, smiling at his reflection.

“I’ve never been more ready for anything in my entire life,” he replied.

We walked downstairs together, hand in hand.

The backyard of the Malibu estate was transformed into a stunning, intimate wedding venue.

My sister, completely healthy and glowing with life, stood at the altar as my maid of honor.

And standing at the front, holding a small basket of rose petals, was Maya.

She wore a beautiful white dress, her chestnut hair grown back perfectly in soft, bouncing waves.

She beamed at us, her eyes sparkling with pure, unfiltered joy.

“I love you, Mommy Clara,” Maya said loudly and clearly for all our friends to hear.

Tears of absolute happiness filled my eyes.

I looked at Harrison, the billionaire who had saved my family, and the man who had stolen my heart.

I finally had the family I always dreamed of, and no one would ever hurt them again.
