Suddenly, a loud, metallic banging started on the other side of the heavy door.
“Open up, sweetheart!” a cruel voice yelled from outside.
It wasn't Julian.
“We know you are in there, and we brought some C4 just for you.”
Tears streamed down my face.
If they were at the door, it meant they had gotten past Julian.
“Julian,” I sobbed into my hands, praying he wasn't dead.
A massive explosion rocked the room, throwing me hard against the steel wall.
The heavy door groaned, the hinges melting from the intense heat of the blast.
With a screech of tearing metal, the door was pried open by crowbars.
Flashlights blinded me as three men in tactical gear stepped inside.
One of them grabbed my hair, hauling me to my feet without mercy.
“We got the girl,” he said into a radio.
They dragged me out into the living room.
