Chapter 13 - The Collapse

“Shoot the phone!” Richard screamed, completely losing his refined, billionaire composure.

“Destroy it right now!”

Before any of the guards could raise their weapons, the piercing sound of police sirens echoed in the distance.

The wailing grew louder and closer by the second.

The live stream had worked perfectly, and the authorities were swarming the docks.

The hired guards immediately dropped their guns, throwing their hands in the air to surrender.

They were paid to intimidate people, not to fight a massive police tactical unit.

Richard tried to run toward his SUV, desperate to escape the consequences of his actions.

But I stepped directly into his path, blocking the driver's side door.

He raised his hand to strike me, his face twisted in unadulterated fury.

Before he could land the blow, my father tackled him to the concrete floor.

Twenty years of pent-up rage and protective instinct fueled my father's strength.

He pinned the billionaire to the ground, holding him down until the police burst through the warehouse doors.

Dozens of heavily armed officers flooded the building, shouting orders and securing the criminals.

An officer gently pulled my father off of Richard, placing the billionaire in heavy steel handcuffs.

Mark was also dragged off the floor, crying pathetically as they read him his rights.

The nightmare was finally over.
