Chapter 15 - Confronting the Monster

Before I could completely leave the heavily guarded basement, I specifically asked the escorting officer to take me to Eleanor’s holding cell.
I needed to see the terrifying mastermind behind the entire horrific plot completely stripped of her immense wealth and toxic power.
Eleanor was pacing violently back and forth in her tiny, concrete cell, looking absolutely feral and completely unhinged.
Her expensive cashmere cardigan was completely stained, and her perfect, expensive makeup was aggressively smeared across her pale face.
When she spotted me through the thick glass, she violently lunged forward like a trapped, incredibly dangerous wild animal.
“You ruined my perfect, beautiful life, you ungrateful, pathetic little servant!” she shrieked hysterically, her eyes burning with pure venom.
“You ruined your own life the very day you decided to slowly murder your own husband for his massive fortune,” I replied with icy calm.
She gasped loudly, physically stumbling backward as the terrifying realization finally hit her completely.
“Beatrice safely kept a highly classified toxicology report hidden for years, Eleanor, and I handed it directly to the federal prosecutors tonight.”
“They are officially exhuming your late husband's body tomorrow morning to aggressively test for the heavy sedatives you violently fed him.”
Eleanor violently collapsed onto the hard metal bench, her entire body shaking uncontrollably as her massive, perfect world violently imploded.
She had always believed she was the smartest, most untouchable woman in any room she ever confidently walked into.
But in the tragic end, she was completely undone by the incredibly quiet, observant daughter-in-law she had constantly belittled.
“You are a vicious, cruel monster, Eleanor, and you absolutely deserve every single agonizing year you spend in this concrete box,” I told her.
She didn't even have the incredible strength to violently scream back at me, her arrogant spirit completely and utterly broken.
I slowly walked out of the dark, depressing precinct and directly into the beautiful, bright morning sunlight.
The massive, heavy burden of their toxic, murderous secrets was finally, permanently lifted from my tired shoulders.
I pulled out my cell phone and quickly dialed the brilliant, aggressive divorce attorney I had secretly hired two days ago.

“File the absolute maximum divorce papers immediately, and make sure you aggressively freeze all of Julian’s remaining personal assets,” I instructed confidently.
It was finally time to completely burn the tragic remnants of my old, miserable life to the ground and start anew.
