Chapter 5 - The Counterattack

Mr. Davis turned pale, staring at the intimidating lawyer standing in his office.

“I... I was just following district protocol,” the principal stammered defensively.

Jonathan Vance placed a thick stack of documents on the desk.

“These are traced IP addresses and phone records from the so-called 'concerned parents'.”

“Every single complaint originated from devices owned by the Sterling family.”

“It is a coordinated campaign of defamation and harassment.”

Clara watched in awe as the powerful attorney completely dismantled the principal’s stance.

“If Mrs. Miller is not allowed to return to her classroom right now, my next call is to the press,” Jonathan warned.

Mr. Davis quickly slid the suspension paperwork into the trash can.

“There has been a terrible misunderstanding, Clara,” he apologized frantically.

“Please, go back to your students.”

As they walked out into the hallway, Clara looked at Jonathan with gratitude.

“How did you know they would do this?” she asked quietly.

Jonathan smiled, a sharp and knowing expression.

“Arthur Sterling built an empire from nothing, Mrs. Miller.”

“He knows exactly how ruthless his family can be.”

“He hired me specifically to protect you from their inevitable attacks.”
