Chapter 11 - The Confession

Arthur confessed to every dirty transaction, sobbing into the digital recorder.
He detailed how Briggs had manipulated the union, bribed judges, and ordered assassinations.
Marcus secured the recorder in his tactical vest, finally having the leverage he needed.
He zip-tied Arthur's wrists to a heavy cast-iron radiator in the living room.
"Consider this poetry," Marcus whispered, leaving the landlord bound on the floor.
He slipped back down the fire stairs, completely undetected by the patrolmen outside.
It was already ten o'clock at night; the cartel deal was going down in two hours.
Marcus returned to the safe house to check on his son.
Leo was awake, eating a protein bar Marcus had left on the desk.
"Are you going to stop them now, Dad?" the boy asked, sensing the shift in Marcus.
"I am, but I need you to be the bravest you've ever been," Marcus replied.

He called Sarah again, giving her the exact coordinates to the safe house.
"Come get Leo, and if you don't hear from me by dawn, leak this audio file to the FBI," Marcus ordered.
