Chapter 6 - A Lawyer's Fury

Back in his downtown office, Arthur inserted the tiny SD card into his laptop.
He clicked on the most recent video file, his breath hitching as the footage began to play on the screen.
The video quality was stunningly clear, capturing every corner of the kitchen and the patio door.
He watched in absolute horror as the argument unfolded, hearing the terrifyingly dark tone in Marcus’s voice.
He saw the physical struggle, the way Marcus violently seized my wrist, and the aggressive lunge from Vanessa.
He watched his oldest friend's wife fall backward, crashing through the glass in a shower of deadly shards.
But the most sickening part was what happened next.
He listened to Marcus and Vanessa calmly construct their fake alibi while I bled out on the freezing concrete.
Arthur slammed his fist onto his mahogany desk, tears of rage pricking the corners of his eyes.
He immediately made a secure copy of the file and saved it to an encrypted cloud server.
Then, he printed out high-resolution stills from the video, showing the exact moment Marcus grabbed me.
He packed his briefcase and headed straight back to the hospital, his mind buzzing with legal strategy.
