The second mercenary in the hallway turned toward her, his eyes widening in shock behind his mask.
Elena squeezed the trigger, firing two precise shots into his center mass.
He dropped instantly.
The room fell into a stunned, ringing silence, broken only by Dante’s groans of pain.
Cassian slowly lowered his pistol, staring at his housekeeper in absolute disbelief.
She was holding the assault rifle with the practiced ease of a veteran soldier.
Her posture was flawless, her breathing controlled, her eyes scanning the hallway for secondary targets.
"Clear," Elena announced, flipping the rifle’s selector switch to burst mode.
Marcus stared at her, his jaw completely unhinged.
"Who the hell are you?" Marcus demanded, pointing his weapon at her.
"Lower your weapon, Marcus," Cassian ordered, his eyes never leaving Elena.
"She just saved my life."
Elena stood up, kicking the dead mercenary's sidearm toward Cassian.
"We have roughly three minutes before their backup team sweeps this floor," she said coldly.
"How do you know that?" Cassian asked, stepping closer to her.
"Because if I planned this assault, that is exactly what I would do," she replied.
"The southern breach was a distraction."
"The main strike force is coming through the garage."
