Chapter 17 - Elena Rostova"Elena Rostova," she answered truthfully for the first time in three years.

"It is a beautiful name," Cassian said softly.

The chaos of the cleanup continued around them, but in that small corner of the library, the world seemed to stop.

She had spent years making herself invisible, fading into the background to survive.

Now, a powerful man was looking at her, truly seeing her, and he wasn't afraid.

"We have a lot of work to do to secure the territory now that Viktor is dead," Elena said, shifting the conversation back to business.

"We will handle it," Cassian assured her.

"Together."

The word hung in the air, full of heavy implications.

Elena nodded, feeling a strange sense of belonging she hadn't felt since her black-ops unit was destroyed.

She walked out of the library, her posture straight, her head held high.

The guards in the hallway, who used to ignore her, now stepped back with fearful respect.

They had seen what the quiet maid was capable of.

She wasn't a servant.

She was an apex predator.
