Chapter 6 - The Financial Shock

Sitting across from the bank manager, I officially removed Liam as an authorized user on all my accounts.

For the past three years, he had lived a lavish lifestyle funded entirely by my successful marketing firm.

He always claimed his trust fund was tied up in complicated family investments.

I had trusted him blindly, foolishly believing we were building a life together as equals.

“Ms. Parker, I should also inform you about the recent activity on your secondary credit card,” the manager said nervously.

He turned his computer monitor around, showing me a long, horrifying list of pending transactions.

Liam had charged over twenty thousand dollars in luxury hotel suites, spa treatments, and designer dinners in just twelve hours.

He was trying to drain my credit lines to punish me for throwing them out.

“Flag all of those charges as unauthorized and cancel the card immediately,” I ordered, my blood boiling.

“I will also need to place a complete freeze on my social security number to prevent him from opening new accounts.”

The manager nodded quickly, typing frantically to secure my financial assets.

I walked out of the bank feeling a dangerous, fiery rage burning in my chest.

They weren't just toxic; they were actively trying to ruin my life and steal my hard-earned money.

I pulled out my phone and called a private security company I had used for corporate events.

“I need a comprehensive security system installed at my private residence today,” I told the dispatcher.

“Cameras on every door, motion sensors, and smart locks.”

Liam still had a key to the garage, and I knew Beatrice was vindictive enough to try and break in.

I was going to turn my house into an absolute fortress.

They were never getting back inside.
