Chapter 6 - The Decoy

Hours later, the perimeter alarms of the decoy house we set up in New Jersey began to silently trip on our monitors.

Through the hidden cameras, I watched intently as three heavily armed men violently kicked down the door of the rundown motel room.

They were not local police officers; they were ruthless corporate fixers paid to make problems disappear permanently.

They aggressively tore the small room apart, finding only a cheap burner phone left purposefully on the unmade bed.

Suddenly, the phone rang, the loud sound echoing eerily in the empty, trashed room.

One of the imposing men picked it up, and I spoke directly through the microphone from the absolute safety of the Blackstone estate.

“Tell Richard that if he wants to kill me, he is going to have to look a lot harder,” I whispered chillingly.

Before the furious man could even reply, our elite hackers triggered a localized EMP device hidden in the motel walls.

It instantly wiped their communication devices and permanently fried their untraceable phones.

Simultaneously, we forwarded the crystal-clear security footage of his armed thugs directly to the FBI under an anonymous, encrypted tip.

Richard had just recklessly crossed the line from a messy domestic dispute to a federal kidnapping conspiracy.

The intricate game of chess had officially begun, and I had just brilliantly taken his knight.
