Chapter 13 - The New Boss

The entire board of directors turned around to stare at me in stunned, pin-drop silence.

Richard was standing arrogantly at the head of the mahogany table, a smug smile completely frozen on his pale face.

“What is the exact meaning of this?” Richard demanded loudly, though his voice cracked slightly with underlying panic.

“Security, remove this crazy, delusional woman immediately before I call the police!”

I walked slowly to the opposite end of the long table and slammed a massive legal binder down onto the polished wood.

“I am Sarah Blackstone, the sole legal inheritor of the Blackstone Trust,” I announced, my voice booming confidently across the room.

“And I am not here as your hysterical, pregnant wife; I am here as your new majority shareholder.”

Richard’s face drained of absolutely all color, making him look like a sickly ghost.

While he was busy trying to aggressively drain our hidden accounts, Arthur had quietly bought up all of Mitchell Industries’ outstanding toxic debt.

I now legally owned his company, his skyscraper, and his entire professional future.

“You are lying to everyone,” Richard choked out, desperately looking at the board members who were already frantically reviewing my authenticated documents.

“It is over, Richard,” I said softly, relishing the utter defeat in his eyes.
