Chapter 11 - Little Victoria

I had a daughter.
She was incredibly small, very delicate, and immediately required a medical incubator, but she was breathing on her own.
I gently touched the warm glass of her medical pod, happy tears streaming down my exhausted face as I promised to forever protect her.
“We will call her Victoria,” I whispered softly to my grandfather, knowing it meant absolute triumph.
But our rare moment of peace was instantly shattered when Gabriel burst through the doors of the medical wing.
“Richard’s firm just filed a massive, hostile takeover bid against the primary Blackstone shell corporations,” Gabriel announced grimly.
Chloe had secretly given him the crucial access codes right before she came down to the bunker to kill me.
Richard was ruthlessly using his corrupt international banking connections to drain my grandfather’s empire entirely legally.
If he actually succeeded today, we would lose absolutely everything, and Richard would become an untouchable titan.
“He arrogant thinks I am weak, broken, and recovering,” I said, wiping my tears and standing up, completely ignoring the burning pain in my body.

“Get me a tailored suit, Gabriel, because we are going straight to Manhattan.”
It was finally time to end this miserable war entirely on my own terms.
