Chapter 12 - The Courtroom Showdown
The courtroom was packed with journalists, all eager to cover the scandal of the wealthy Vance family.
Eleanor sat at the plaintiff's table, wearing a cheap dress she had bought with her last bit of cash, playing the victim.
She wiped fake tears from her eyes as her lawyer accused Elena of being a drug addict who kidnapped Lily.
Julian sat calmly beside Elena, holding her hand under the heavy mahogany table.
When it was the defense's turn, Julian's lawyer called a surprise witness to the stand.
"The defense calls Thomas Gray to the stand," the lawyer announced.
Eleanor's face turned completely ghost-white.
Thomas walked to the witness box, swore on the Bible, and pulled a small flash drive from his pocket.

The courtroom erupted in gasps.
