Chapter 10 - Safe at Last
Julian returned to the hospital, his heart feeling slightly lighter after facing his greatest demon.
When he walked into the VIP room, he saw Elena sitting up against the pillows, drinking warm broth.
Lily was sitting on the edge of the bed, brushing her mother's hair and smiling brightly.
"Julian," Elena breathed softly, a weak but beautiful smile gracing her lips.
He rushed to the bed, pulling both of his girls into a massive, warm embrace.
"She is gone, Elena," Julian whispered into her hair.
"My mother will never, ever hurt you again."
Elena closed her eyes, tears of absolute relief streaming down her pale cheeks.

"I missed you every single day," she sobbed into his shoulder.
"I missed you too, and I promise to spend the rest of my life making it up to you both," Julian swore.
