Chapter 7 - Trespassing and Truths
Desperation pushed Eleanor to do something incredibly foolish.
She drove to Elena's corporate office building, demanding to see her.
"I am Elena Vance's mother-in-law!" Eleanor shouted at the front desk receptionist.
"I need to speak with her immediately about a family emergency."
The receptionist calmly pressed a button under her desk.
Two massive security guards approached Eleanor instantly.
"Ma'am, you are not on the approved visitor list," one guard said firmly.
"I will not leave until that spoiled brat comes down here!" Eleanor shrieked.
Elena stepped out of the elevator just at that moment, holding a file.
She saw Eleanor causing a scene and walked over calmly.
"Elena! Tell these goons to let me go!" Eleanor demanded, looking relieved.
Elena looked at her former mother-in-law with absolute disgust.
"I don't know this woman," Elena told the guards smoothly.
"Please escort her off the property, she is trespassing."
Eleanor's jaw dropped in absolute shock.
"You ungrateful little witch!" Eleanor screamed as the guards grabbed her arms.
"We gave you a family! We gave you a husband!"
Elena stepped close, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.

Elena turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Eleanor to be dragged out.
