Chapter 13 - Foreclosure and Fractures

Following the court ruling, the Vance family went into complete financial ruin.

Without Elena's safety net, the bank officially foreclosed on their house.

Moving day was a miserable, humiliating affair.

They had to rent a cheap U-Haul truck themselves.

Eleanor packed her cheap knock-off designer bags while crying endlessly.

They were forced to move into a tiny, two-bedroom apartment in a bad neighborhood.

Arthur, tired of his wife's endless complaining, finally had enough.

He packed a single suitcase and stood by the front door.

"Where are you going?" Eleanor asked, panic rising in her voice.

"I am leaving you, Eleanor," Arthur said, his voice completely devoid of emotion.

"Your obsession with looking rich destroyed this entire family."

"I am going to stay with my brother in Ohio."

Eleanor screamed and begged, but Arthur simply walked out and drove away.

Chloe had to drop out of her expensive private college.
