Chapter 10 - Handcuffs and Humiliation
Two police officers knocked loudly on the Vances' front door.
Eleanor opened it, trying to put on her best fake smile.
"Officers, how can we help you?" she asked sweetly.
"We are looking for Marcus Vance," the taller officer stated flatly.
Marcus froze in the living room, feeling his stomach drop to the floor.
"I'm Marcus," he said, stepping forward with trembling legs.
"Marcus Vance, you are under arrest for domestic assault against Elena Hayes."
The officer grabbed Marcus's arms and roughly handcuffed him behind his back.
"This is a mistake!" Eleanor screamed, grabbing the officer's sleeve.
"It was just a little slap to teach her a lesson! It's a family matter!"
The second officer glared at Eleanor with pure disgust.
"Ma'am, step back or you'll be arrested for interfering with an investigation."
Chloe recorded the whole thing from the stairs, crying hysterically.
They led Marcus out in handcuffs, right in front of all the neighborhood gossips.
Every single neighbor who had endured Eleanor's bragging was now watching her son get arrested.
