Chapter 12 - The Booby Trap
The tactical team surrounded the small wooden cabin.
The commander gave the order to breach the front door.
But as the lead officer kicked the door open, a tripwire snapped.
A massive explosion shattered the front of the cabin, sending wood and glass flying.
At the precinct, we heard the blast over the radio feed.
"Officer down! Officer down!" someone screamed through the static.
Chaos erupted as medics rushed to the scene.
Arthur had rigged the entrance with a homemade explosive device.
He knew they were coming, and he wanted to take them down with him.
Two officers were badly injured, but thankfully, they were both alive.
The team backed away, bringing in a bomb squad to clear the rest of the property.
It took hours to safely sweep the perimeter.
When they finally entered the smoking ruins of the cabin, it was empty.
