Chapter 7 - Securing the Evidence

Dr. Sterling led us to his private home office with trembling hands.

He unlocked a hidden wall safe behind a large abstract painting and retrieved a small silver flash drive.

"Everything is on here," Sterling said, handing the drive to Harrison like it was a live grenade.

"The original donor consent forms with Julian’s forged signature, the real DNA profiles, and the secret medical records proving his sterility."

"If this goes to court, you will be subpoenaed to testify under oath," Harrison warned him.

"I'll testify," the doctor agreed, looking utterly defeated. "Just keep me out of federal prison."

We left the mansion with the golden ticket needed to destroy Julian's entire narrative.

As we drove back to the penthouse, I clutched the small silver drive in the palm of my hand.

This tiny piece of metal held the truth about my child's existence and my husband's absolute depravity.

Julian thought he was the smartest man in the room, playing a game of chess while I was playing checkers.

But he made the fatal mistake of leaving a loose end alive.

"We cannot just take this to the media," Harrison said, breaking the tense silence in the car.

"Julian's PR machine will spin it as a forgery created by a desperate, scorned wife."

"We have to present it in a court of law, in front of a judge, where he cannot hide behind his money," I agreed.

My phone buzzed again, this time with a direct message from Julian’s lead attorney.

It was an official summons for an emergency custody and divorce hearing scheduled for the end of the week.

Julian was pushing for a rapid judgment before his IPO launched the following Monday.

He wanted the messy divorce legally finalized and sealed so his investors wouldn't get spooked.

"He is rushing the timeline," I noted, showing the message to Harrison.

"Good," Harrison smiled, a predatory gleam in his eye. "Let him rush straight into our trap."
