Chapter 13 - Springing the Trap

"Your Honor," Harrison began, his voice booming with absolute authority across the quiet courtroom.
"We do not dispute the fact that Julian Vance is not the biological father of the child."
A collective gasp echoed from the gallery, and Julian’s smug smile widened into a victorious grin.
"However," Harrison continued, holding up a thick black binder, "we heavily dispute the plaintiff's narrative of infidelity."
Harrison approached the bench and handed Judge Davis the flash drive and a stack of printed documents.
"What is this, Mr. Cole?" the judge asked, peering down at the evidence over her glasses.
"That is the original, unadulterated medical file from the private fertility clinic Julian Vance forced my client to attend."
Julian's smug expression instantly vanished, replaced by a flash of genuine panic.
"It contains the consent forms, forged by Mr. Vance, authorizing the use of an anonymous sperm donor without my client's knowledge."
Julian’s lawyer jumped up, shouting, "Objection! This is fabricated evidence meant to distract the court!"
"I have a sworn, videotaped deposition from Dr. Arthur Sterling confirming the fraud," Harrison countered loudly.
"Furthermore, Your Honor, we submitted the real donor's DNA profile to a neutral, third-party federal lab."
Harrison pointed an accusing finger directly at Julian's pale, shocked face.
"The DNA results the plaintiff just submitted do not match the baby or the actual anonymous donor."
The courtroom erupted into frantic whispers as the weight of the accusation settled in.
"Julian Vance bribed his own private lab to completely falsify a legal court document," I stated, speaking out of turn.
Judge Davis slammed her gavel violently, demanding immediate order in her courtroom.
She opened the black binder, her eyes scanning the undeniable paper trail of wire transfers and forged signatures.
