Chapter 9 - The Mistress Flips
Chloe was sitting on the curb with all her designer bags when Elena's black SUV pulled up.
Elena rolled down the window and stared at the crying young woman.
"Get in," Elena commanded.
Chloe hesitated, but she had nowhere else to go.
During the drive, Elena laid out all the evidence of Mateo's financial crimes.
"He is going to prison, Chloe, and if you help him, you will go down as his accomplice."
Chloe looked at the bank statements and burst into tears.
"He told me he was a billionaire and that his wife was a crazy gold digger!"
Elena handed the girl a tissue and a burner phone.
"I need you to forward me every text and voice memo he ever sent you about his business."
Chloe eagerly agreed, desperate to save her own skin.
