Chapter 15 - The Arrest
Blue and red lights flashed outside the towering glass windows of the venue.
Four heavily armed police officers marched into the gala.
They walked straight past the screaming investors and grabbed Mateo by the arms.
"Mateo Sterling, you are under arrest for grand larceny and corporate fraud," the officer announced.
Mateo burst into tears, begging and pleading for someone to help him.
He looked desperately at Elena, but she simply turned her back to him.
They slapped cold steel handcuffs on his wrists and dragged him away.
As he was led out, another officer approached Beatrice.
"Beatrice Sterling, you are under arrest for assault and conspiracy to commit fraud."
The haughty, arrogant woman squealed as they forced her hands behind her back.

Elena stepped right over the broken diamonds as she left the building.
