Chapter 3 - The Shark Attorney
Elena sat across from Richard Vance, her ruthless corporate attorney who also happened to be her uncle.
Richard watched the doorbell footage of Beatrice assaulting Rosa.
His jaw tightened, and a predatory gleam appeared in his eyes.
"Assault, battery, and emotional distress," Richard listed off easily.
"But that's just the appetizer," Elena said, sliding the printed bank statements across the desk.
Richard reviewed the offshore transfers and whistled softly.
"Your husband is laundering money through his mother's fake LLC."
Elena nodded, her eyes completely devoid of emotion.
"I want you to draft the divorce papers, but don't serve them yet."
She needed to bait Mateo into making one more fatal mistake.
"I want to buy Beatrice's mortgage," Elena commanded smoothly.
Richard smiled, already drafting the legal maneuvers in his head.
