Chapter 9 - The CPS Retaliation

I should have known they wouldn't go down without playing dirty. Two days after the arrests, Arthur and Beatrice posted bail. They were furious, humiliated, and desperate.
That afternoon, there was a knock on the door of Eleanor's law office, where I was reviewing documents. It was a worker from Child Protective Services, accompanied by a police officer.

"The grandparents who posted bail this morning filed this report, didn't they?" Eleanor asked knowingly.

The boomerang had just swung back, and it was going to hit my in-laws right between the eyes.
