Chapter 7 - The Viral Video

I had known that the civil lawsuit wouldn't be enough to truly destroy Arthur's public image.

Billionaires always found a way to settle lawsuits quietly out of the public eye.

But I had a secret weapon that Arthur and Julian had completely forgotten about.

During the retirement banquet, several of the younger guests had been recording videos for social media.

I had anonymously contacted a popular investigative journalist and provided her with the footage.

The next morning, the video was completely plastered across every major news network in the country.

The footage clearly showed me apologizing frantically before Arthur violently struck me in the face.

It also clearly showed Julian standing there, watching me bleed, and telling me to leave.

The internet absolutely exploded with collective outrage and visceral disgust.

Millions of people were sharing the video, demanding that the Sterling family be held accountable.

Protesters began gathering outside the Sterling corporate headquarters, holding massive signs.

Julian’s face was splashed across the front page of every tabloid, labeled as the ultimate coward.

Arthur’s wealthy friends, politicians, and charity organizations immediately began issuing public statements distancing themselves.

The prestigious country club they had belonged to for three generations officially revoked their membership.

They were completely toxic, and anyone associated with them was facing massive public backlash.

I watched the news from my safehouse, feeling a deep, satisfying warmth spread through my chest.

They had humiliated me in front of sixty people to prove their power.

I had just humiliated them in front of sixty million people to prove my own.
