Chapter 11 - The Rat in a Cage

Julian sat in a cold, grey federal holding cell, shivering violently in his thin orange jumpsuit.

He had never spent a single day of his life without extreme luxury and total comfort.

The harsh reality of the concrete floor and the terrible food was completely breaking his fragile mind.

A federal prosecutor walked into the interrogation room and dropped a massive file on the table.

The prosecutor offered Julian a very simple, incredibly brutal plea deal.

If Julian agreed to testify against his father in open court, they would reduce his sentence.

Julian did not even hesitate for a single second before agreeing to betray his own blood.

He eagerly signed the cooperation agreement, desperate to save himself from a maximum-security prison.

He spilled every single dark secret he knew about Arthur’s corrupt business practices.

He handed over the names of bribed judges, corrupt politicians, and illegal offshore bankers.

He threw the man he had feared his entire life directly under the speeding bus.

Arthur was sitting in the adjacent cell, completely unaware that his beloved son had just sold his soul.

When Arthur’s lawyer finally informed him of Julian’s betrayal, the old man actually collapsed.

He clutched his chest, suffering a mild panic attack as his entire world went completely dark.

The loyal family dynasty he had brutalized everyone to protect was a complete, hilarious lie.

They were tearing each other apart just like starving rats trapped in a sinking cage.
