Chapter 10 - The Golden Boy Breaks

Julian had always been the golden child who could do no wrong in their eyes.

He had never faced a single consequence for his reckless and arrogant behavior.

Now, he was sitting in a maximum-security interrogation room facing twenty years.

The federal prosecutor walked in and slammed a heavy folder onto the table.

The prosecutor offered Julian a harsh but simple plea deal.

If Julian testified against his father in federal court, they would reduce his sentence.

Julian did not even hesitate for a single second before betraying his own blood.

He eagerly signed the cooperation agreement, desperate to save his own skin.

He spilled every dark secret he knew about Arthur’s offshore money laundering operations.

He gave them the names of the corrupt politicians Arthur had bribed over the years.

Julian thought he was being clever, but the prosecutor looked at him with pure disgust.

The prosecutor revealed that they already had all this information from my flash drive.

Julian’s testimony was completely useless, and the plea deal was suddenly off the table.

Julian panicked, screaming that they had promised to protect him.

The prosecutor coldly replied that liars and thieves do not get special protection.

Julian was escorted back to his tiny cell, realizing he had just ruined his last chance.

He had sold out his father for absolutely nothing in return.

He sat on his hard mattress, staring at the blank wall in silent despair.
