Chapter 11 - The Lawsuit

My new lawyer, a ruthless bulldog named Veronica, worked incredibly fast.
Within forty-eight hours, she had drafted a massive civil lawsuit for defamation, libel, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
We had the ironclad medical records proving she assaulted me, which completely destroyed her fake narrative of being the victim.
We also had financial records proving she was perfectly healthy and capable of working, but simply chose to live beyond her means.
Veronica hired a professional process server to deliver the lawsuit directly to Clara's workplace.
Clara had recently managed to secure a job as a receptionist at a high-end real estate firm.
According to the process server's detailed report, Clara was sitting at the front desk when he walked in.
He handed her the thick stack of legal documents in front of her entire office and her wealthy clients.
Clara opened the folder, read the massive financial damages we were seeking, and literally collapsed out of her chair in a panic attack.
Her boss, horrified by the massive scene and the legal drama, fired her on the spot before the day was even over.
Veronica called me that evening to deliver the incredibly satisfying news.
"She has twenty days to formally respond to the lawsuit, Margaret," Veronica explained.
"But considering she has absolutely no money and no job, she will never be able to afford a defense attorney."
I poured myself a glass of expensive champagne and walked out onto my sunlit balcony.
