Chapter 6 - Eleanor's Humiliation

With Marcus financially ruined, I turned my attention to his cruel mother.

Eleanor prided herself on her flawless reputation within the city's elite country club.

She spent her days drinking champagne and gossiping about everyone else's failures.

On Wednesday afternoon, the country club hosted its annual charity luncheon.

I knew Eleanor would be there, desperately trying to maintain appearances despite her son's sudden homelessness.

I arrived wearing a stunning red dress, looking like absolute royalty.

Eleanor was sitting at a prime table, holding baby Julian and lying to her wealthy friends.

“Yes, Marcus simply realized Clara was unfit to be a mother,” Eleanor was saying as I approached.

“He chose to leave her to protect this precious new baby.”

I tapped my crystal glass with a silver spoon, drawing the attention of the entire dining room.

“Actually, Eleanor, your son was thrown out because he is a broke, cheating fraud,” I announced clearly.

The entire ballroom went dead silent, hundreds of eyes turning to watch the drama unfold.

“How dare you speak to me that way in public!” Eleanor shrieked, clutching the baby.

I pulled out my phone and connected it to the club’s Bluetooth audio system, which I had tipped the DJ to access.

I pressed play on the security footage audio from my living room.

Eleanor’s cruel, shrill voice echoed through the elegant ballroom for everyone to hear.

“Stay on your knees. You caused that disaster, so you can crawl until you figure out how to behave.”

The wealthy women at Eleanor's table physically recoiled from her in absolute horror.

“You abused a five-year-old child?” a prominent judge's wife asked Eleanor in disgust.

Eleanor burst into tears, grabbing her purse and running out of the club in total disgrace.

She was permanently banned from the country club by the end of the day.
