Chapter 9 - The Miracle

"I am right here, I am not going anywhere," Julian promised, putting on a blue medical mask and standing by my head.

The next hour was a blur of excruciating pain, bright lights, and frantic medical terms.

I pushed with every single ounce of strength left in my battered, exhausted body.

I focused entirely on Julian’s voice, letting his deep, calming tone guide me through the darkness.

"One more big push, you are doing amazing!" the doctor encouraged me loudly.

I screamed, squeezing my eyes shut and giving it absolutely everything I had left.

And then, the room fell silent.

It was the most terrifying silence I had ever experienced in my entire life.

For ten agonizing seconds, nobody spoke, and my heart completely stopped in my chest.

Then, a tiny, piercing cry shattered the silence of the delivery room.

"It's a boy," the doctor announced with a massive, relieved smile.

Julian collapsed into the chair next to my bed, sobbing uncontrollably into his hands.

The nurses quickly cleaned our tiny miracle and wrapped him in a warm, soft blanket.

They gently placed him on my chest, right above my heart.

He was small, but he was absolutely perfect.

I looked down at his tiny face, all the trauma and pain instantly washing away.

"We did it, Julian," I whispered, crying tears of pure, unadulterated joy.

Julian leaned over and kissed my forehead, then gently kissed the top of our son's head.
