Chapter 10 - The New Beginning
Six months had passed since the nightmare in the courtroom.
The grand dining room of our mansion was completely remodeled, erasing any memory of that horrific day.
I sat at the head of the long table, bouncing our healthy, beautiful son on my knee.
Julian walked in holding two glasses of sparkling cider, a bright, peaceful smile on his face.
"I just got off the phone with Mr. Sterling," Julian announced, handing me a glass.
"Eleanor was sentenced to fifteen years, and Beatrice got ten for her role in the conspiracy."
I took a slow sip of the sweet cider, feeling absolutely no sympathy for the women who tried to destroy us.
"And the trust fund?" I asked, smiling up at my handsome husband.
"Officially unlocked and transferred to our son's name," Julian confirmed, kissing my cheek.
We had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable.
We had fought through the lies, the pain, and the terrifying fear of losing everything we loved.
But standing here now, looking at our perfect family, I knew we had won the ultimate victory.
The hidden camera had saved Julian's freedom, but our love had saved our family.
I looked down at our little boy, who was smiling brightly up at his father.
