Chapter 3 - The Ultimatum

Mrs. Gable turned her sharp, predatory gaze away from the kneeling maid and locked her eyes onto the disguised billionaire.

Her expression twisted into a mask of pure disgust, as if she were looking at a diseased rat that had crawled out of the sewer.

"As for you," Mrs. Gable snapped, her voice cutting through the damp morning air like a freshly sharpened blade.

"You have exactly ten seconds to remove yourself from this property before I call the local authorities."

"We do not tolerate vagrants, beggars, or trespassers in this exclusive neighborhood."

Adrian kept his head bowed, playing the role of the terrified, helpless old man to absolute perfection.

He let out a weak, raspy cough, his shoulders trembling beneath the thin, dirty fabric of his torn coat.

"I meant no trouble, ma'am," Adrian whispered, making sure his voice sounded pathetic and broken.

"I will leave right away, I promise."

Victor laughed cruelly, taking a step forward and resting his hand aggressively on his heavy black flashlight.

"You better move fast, old man, or I'll help you find the exit," Victor threatened, eager to impress the head housekeeper.

Adrian did not argue, nor did he look up to meet the guard's challenging, arrogant stare.

He slowly turned his back to the massive iron gates, his boots dragging heavily against the wet gravel.

Every step he took away from the estate was calculated, slow, and completely agonizing to witness.

But inside his mind, a massive storm of anger and absolute clarity was furiously brewing.

He had built his entire empire on the belief that fear bred efficiency and success.

He had instructed managers like Mrs. Gable to rule with an iron fist, believing it would protect his massive wealth.

Now, he saw firsthand that his philosophy had merely bred a culture of soulless cruelty and toxic abuse.

He stopped for a brief moment, risking one final glance over his shoulder.

Grace was entirely on her knees in the cold, wet dirt of the sprawling driveway.

She was not crying, nor was she complaining about the freezing temperature seeping through her thin gray uniform.

She was carefully, methodically picking up the sharp, jagged pieces of the broken Italian porcelain.

Her bare hands were red from the biting cold, yet she worked with a quiet, heartbreaking dignity.

Mrs. Gable stood towering over her, arms crossed, watching the young woman work like a cruel overseer.

"Make sure you get every single piece, Grace," Mrs. Gable commanded, her voice devoid of any human empathy.

"If a guest's vehicle gets a flat tire because of your foolishness, you will be terminated immediately."

"Do you completely understand me?"

Grace nodded silently, placing another sharp shard of broken plate onto her open, trembling palm.

"Yes, Mrs. Gable," Grace replied softly, her focus entirely on the humiliating task at hand.

Adrian watched her slender fingers brush against the sharp edge of the ceramic, wincing internally when a tiny drop of blood appeared on her skin.

She simply wiped the blood away on her apron and continued working without a single word of protest.

Adrian felt a burning sensation in his throat, a sudden, overwhelming wave of absolute shame.

He was a billionaire who controlled global markets, yet he felt entirely powerless watching this young woman suffer because of his own terrible employees.

He tightened his grip on his dirty coat, making a silent, unbreakable vow to himself.

He was going to tear this toxic hierarchy down to its very foundations, piece by piece.

And he was going to start with the arrogant people standing right in front of him.
