Chapter 6 - CLEANING HOUSE

The lead board member, a sweaty man named Higgins, stood up shakily.

“Julian! We… we thought you were indisposed today.”

“Indisposed?” Julian mocked, walking toward the head of the table.

“Is that what Marcus told you before he tried to have me poisoned last night?”

Gasps filled the room.

Julian threw a thick folder onto the center of the glass table.

“Inside that folder are the signed confessions of Martha, the housekeeper, and Marcus’s hired mercenaries.”

He leaned forward, planting his hands firmly on the table.

“It also contains the GPS data of Marcus at an illegal black-site medical facility.”

The board members looked at each other in absolute terror.

“Marcus is currently in FBI custody facing multiple charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, and corporate sabotage.”

Julian’s eyes locked onto Higgins.

“And my security team has already traced offshore payments from Marcus’s accounts directly into yours, Higgins.”

Higgins collapsed back into his leather chair, clutching his chest.

“I… I didn't know he was going to kill anyone!” Higgins stammered.

“You knew enough to stay silent,” Julian spat.

Julian’s lawyers stepped forward, handing out termination papers to half the room.

“You are all fired, effective immediately,” Julian announced.

“Security will escort you out of the building. If you resist, the police are waiting in the lobby.”

The corrupt executives were dragged out of the room, whining and pleading.

Julian stood alone at the head of the table, looking out over the city skyline.

The empire was safe.

The rot had been carved out.

But all the money in the world didn't matter to him in this moment.

His phone buzzed again.

It was Dr. Thorne.

“Julian,” the doctor said, his voice thick with emotion.

“You need to come home right now. She’s waking up.”
