Chapter 3 - BROTHERS IN BLOOD

The door crashed open, slamming against the concrete wall.

Marcus spun around, his eyes wide with absolute shock.

The syringe was still in his hand, hovering inches above Eleanor’s IV line.

“Julian!” Marcus gasped, stumbling backward.

“Step away from my wife,” Julian said, his voice radiating pure, unadulterated rage.

Marcus recovered from his initial shock, a twisted smile forming on his lips.

“How did you find this place?” Marcus sneered.

“You were supposed to be dead on your study floor by now.”

“Your housekeeper failed,” Julian growled, stepping into the room.

“And now, you are going to pay for every single tear my daughter has cried.”

Marcus’s eyes darted toward the window, looking for an escape.

Realizing he was trapped, he lunged toward Eleanor with the needle.

“If I go down, she goes with me!” Marcus screamed.

Julian didn't hesitate.

He didn't fire his weapon, fearing a ricochet might strike Eleanor.

Instead, he threw himself across the room, tackling Marcus to the hard floor.

The syringe clattered across the linoleum tiles.

Julian threw a brutal punch, his knuckles connecting with Marcus’s cheekbone.

Blood sprayed across the floor.

Marcus fought back desperately, kneeing Julian in the ribs.

The two brothers wrestled on the ground, a violent clash fueled by six years of betrayal.

Marcus grabbed a heavy metal tray from a nearby medical cart and swung it.

It smashed into Julian’s shoulder, sending a shockwave of pain down his arm.

But Julian’s adrenaline was masking the agony.

He grabbed Marcus by the collar and slammed his head against the floor.

“You killed my family!” Julian roared, striking him again.

“I trusted you! I mourned with you!”

Marcus coughed up blood, laughing weakly.

“It was just business, Julian,” he choked out.

“The company belonged to me!”

Julian raised his fist for a final, devastating blow.

Vance grabbed Julian’s arm, pulling him back.

“He’s done, boss. Let the authorities have him.”

Julian stood up, chest heaving, his hands covered in his brother’s blood.

He turned his back on the pathetic man on the floor.

His eyes finally fell entirely upon the woman in the bed.

Eleanor.
