Chapter 10 - A NEW BEGINNING

A year after the terrible night that changed everything, the Sterling estate hosted a massive celebration.

It was Clara’s seventh birthday party.

The lawns were covered in colorful tents, bouncy castles, and mountains of presents.

Friends, loyal employees, and trusted business partners filled the grounds.

Julian stood on the patio, holding a glass of sparkling cider.

He watched as Clara blew out the candles on her massive, three-tiered cake.

Eleanor was standing right beside her, clapping and cheering loudly.

The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over his family.

The dark clouds that had haunted him for six years were permanently gone.

The company was thriving under his renewed leadership, free of corruption.

Marcus was rotting in a maximum-security cell, forgotten by the world.

Martha had accepted a plea deal and was serving a ten-year sentence in a state facility.

The past had finally been laid to rest.

Eleanor walked over to Julian and slipped her hand into his.

“She made a wish,” Eleanor whispered, leaning her head on his shoulder.

“Did she tell you what it was?” Julian asked, smiling down at his wife.

“She said she didn't need to wish for anything anymore,” Eleanor replied, tears of joy in her eyes.

“Because she already has everything she ever wanted.”

Julian pulled Eleanor close and kissed her deeply under the warm summer sun.

He looked out at his daughter, who was laughing as she opened a new set of paints.
