Chapter 10 - The Trap
Daniel and Sarah refused to live in fear. They knew Beatrice was desperate. Her trial was approaching, and her defense of "dementia" wouldn't hold up against Arthur's impending testimony and the damning security footage. She needed to destroy the evidence.
Daniel deliberately leaked false information to Beatrice’s sister, knowing it would get back to his mother. He told her that he kept the original unedited SD card from the kitchen camera in a safe in his home office, and that he and Sarah were taking Lucas to a cabin for the weekend to destress.

They didn't go to a cabin. They sent Lucas to stay with Sarah’s parents out of state, accompanied by private security. Then, Daniel and Sarah parked their car blocks away, sneaked back into their own home, and waited in the darkness.
