Chapter 14 - The Final Trap

With his bail revoked due to the new evidence, the police issued an immediate warrant for his arrest.

But Julian, driven by pure desperation and absolute madness, decided to run.

He managed to cut off his GPS ankle monitor and slipped out the back door of his house.

He stole a neighbor's car and vanished into the dark, rainy night.

I knew exactly where he was going because I knew how his twisted, arrogant mind worked.

He wouldn't leave the city without trying to take back the one thing he felt he owned: me.

He thought I was hiding at Elena's secluded cabin in the nearby mountains.

I had deliberately leaked that false location to one of his shady associates earlier in the week.

I was nowhere near the cabin; I was safely sitting in a highly secure police precinct.

Detective Miller and a heavily armed SWAT team were waiting patiently in the dark woods surrounding the cabin.

Julian arrived at midnight, kicking down the wooden front door with a loaded gun in his hand.

He screamed my name into the empty house, his voice cracking with unhinged fury.

The moment he stepped into the living room, floodlights illuminated the entire property.

Red laser sights painted his chest as dozens of police officers swarmed the cabin.

He dropped his weapon, falling to his knees in the dirt, completely surrounded and totally defeated.

The monster was finally captured.
