Chapter 10 - The Detective Returns

Detective Miller had never fully believed Julian’s dramatic story about the masked home invader.
The forensics team found absolutely no signs of forced entry on the kitchen windows.
When Julian’s financial empire began collapsing, Miller’s suspicions shifted into high gear.
He secured a warrant to search our massive house, looking for any inconsistencies in Julian's statement.
Julian was furious, screaming at the police officers as they tore through his pristine living room.
Miller found the hidden wall safe in the master bedroom, which was completely empty.
He also found the packed suitcases Julian had hidden in the garage, preparing for an escape.
Miller realized that the grieving husband was actually a desperate fugitive preparing to flee the country.
He brought Julian down to the precinct for a brutal, intense interrogation.
I listened to the live audio feed of the interrogation, courtesy of Elena’s incredible hacking skills.
Julian was sweating, stammering, and contradicting his own timeline of the attack.
He was arrogant, but he was incredibly sloppy when he was backed into a corner.
Miller pressed him hard, asking why his missing wife was anonymously releasing his financial crimes.
Julian finally snapped, slamming his fists on the metal table and demanding his high-priced lawyer.
The police didn't have enough physical evidence to charge him with attempted murder yet.
May you like
But they had enough to charge him with massive corporate fraud and tax evasion.
Julian was officially arrested, his wrists locked in cold steel handcuffs.
