Chapter 12 - The Bail Hearing

Julian’s high-priced defense attorney somehow managed to secure him a massive bail hearing.
The judge set the bail at an astronomical five million dollars in cash.
Because Julian’s assets were entirely frozen, he had to rely on his wealthy parents to post the bond.
His parents, utterly blind to their son’s true nature, mortgaged their estate to buy his temporary freedom.
Julian walked out of the courthouse wearing a wrinkled suit, looking completely haggard and paranoid.
He was required to wear a heavy, restrictive GPS ankle monitor at all times.
He returned to our empty, dark house, totally isolated and consumed by his burning rage.
He knew that the fraud charges would eventually lead to a lengthy prison sentence.
But he was far more terrified of the audio recording he knew I still possessed.
He began tearing the house apart, ripping open the drywall and smashing the furniture in a manic frenzy.
He was desperately searching for any hidden copies of the evidence, convinced I had left clues behind.
I watched him destroy his own home through the hidden security cameras I had secretly installed months ago.
He looked like a feral, trapped animal pacing in a luxurious, broken cage.
His polished, wealthy facade was completely gone, replaced by absolute, terrifying madness.

He was finally experiencing the exact same psychological terror he had inflicted on me for years.
It was a beautiful, poetic form of absolute justice.
