Chapter 9 - The Arrival

The intense stress of the courtroom victory caused a sudden, unexpected shift in Clara’s body.
That very evening, right as we were returning to the safe penthouse, Clara suddenly gripped my arm tightly.
"Liam, it is time," she gasped softly, clutching her heavily swollen stomach as the first real contraction hit.
I quickly rushed her back to the private hospital, entirely bypassing the busy waiting room and going straight to the VIP maternity ward.
Dr. Evans was waiting for us, smiling warmly and assuring us that everything was going perfectly.
I held Clara’s hand tightly for six agonizing, incredibly beautiful hours as she bravely brought our child into the world.
She was incredibly strong, heavily pushing through the immense pain with a fierce, motherly determination.
Finally, the loud, beautiful sound of a baby crying wildly filled the sterile hospital room.
"You have a perfectly healthy, beautiful baby girl," Dr. Evans announced happily, gently placing the baby on Clara’s chest.
Tears of pure, absolute joy streamed heavily down my face as I looked at my perfect little family.
Clara looked up at me, exhausted but radiating an incredible, undeniable peace.
"She is entirely safe, Liam," Clara whispered softly, kissing the baby’s tiny, warm forehead.
"She will never know anything about that terrible darkness," I promised firmly, kissing both of my beautiful girls.
We named her Lily, completely symbolizing a fresh, pure beginning completely free from the toxic Ashford history.
There were no cruel relatives waiting in the hospital hallway.

There were no fake, wealthy friends pretending to care about our massive fortune.
