Chapter 6 - The Fall from Grace

The social fallout from the restaurant incident was absolutely swift and incredibly brutal.

By the next morning, the horrific video had been privately shared among every single elite country club in the state.

My mother’s supposed best friends completely abandoned her overnight, refusing to answer her frantic phone calls.

But the social humiliation was merely the absolute beginning of her profound punishment.

At exactly nine o'clock in the morning, two large moving trucks pulled up to the massive Ashford estate.

My mother opened the heavy oak doors, completely shocked to see my lawyer, Marcus Vance, standing on the porch.

He was accompanied by three armed private security guards and a formal, court-ordered eviction notice.

"Good morning, Mrs. Ashford," Marcus said cheerfully, handing her the heavy legal documents.

"You have exactly one hour to pack your personal belongings and vacate this private property."

My mother started screaming hysterically, throwing the papers violently onto the front porch.

"This is my house, I have lived here for thirty years!" she yelled wildly.

"Actually, ma'am, this house belongs entirely to the Ashford Trust, which is solely controlled by your son," Marcus corrected her smoothly.

"If you do not leave peacefully, these gentlemen will have you formally arrested for criminal trespassing."

She frantically tried to call my cell phone, but her number had been permanently blocked by my carrier.

With absolutely no other options, she was forced to pack two small suitcases while the guards watched her every single move.

She walked out of the massive mansion, looking completely broken and utterly defeated.

She had to hail a cheap yellow cab because I had formally repossessed her luxury, company-leased vehicle.

She checked into a cheap, rundown motel on the dark outskirts of the city, realizing her infinite wealth was permanently gone.

Meanwhile, I sat comfortably beside Clara in our secure penthouse, holding her hand as we felt the baby gently kicking.

The wicked witch was finally dead, but she still had one desperate, pathetic trick up her sleeve.
