Chapter 4 - The Corporate Bloodbath

By noon, the situation escalated exactly as I had anticipated. I left Sarah under the watchful eye of a private, armed security detail I had hired for the penthouse door and took a private car to the corporate headquarters. When I stepped off the private elevator onto the executive floor, the atmosphere was chaotic. Julian was standing by the reception desk, his face flushed red, aggressively yelling at a security guard who was blocking him from entering my office suite.
“I’m the Vice President!” Julian screamed, slamming his fist on the marble counter. “You were the Vice President, Julian,” I said, my voice cutting through the lobby like a whip.
Julian spun around, his eyes wide with a mixture of rage and terror. “Arthur! Mom is having a breakdown. The board is calling an emergency meeting! You can't just freeze our lives over some stupid fight with your wife!”

“It wasn't a fight. It was abuse. And you filmed it,” I said coldly, walking past him as two larger security guards flanked me. “Your keycard has been deactivated. Your company car is being repossessed as we speak. You have exactly five minutes to leave this building before I have you arrested for corporate espionage and wire fraud.”
Julian’s smug demeanor completely collapsed. He suddenly looked like a terrified child. “You can’t prove anything! Mom said she had the legal right—” “Mom lied to you,” I interrupted, stepping into my office. “And you were stupid enough to leave your digital signature on a federal wire transfer. Goodbye, Julian.”
