Chapter 19 - The Heir

Our son, Leo, was born on a warm summer morning.

He had Elena’s dark hair and my eyes. When I held him for the first time in the hospital delivery room, listening to his strong, healthy cries, I realized that the cycle of abuse and arrogance that had plagued the Vance family for generations was finally broken.

Leo would never know the coldness of my mother. He would never know the manipulative cruelty of my sister. He would be raised in a house filled with sunlight, warmth, and absolute, unconditional love.

We brought him home to the estate. The nursery was painted a soft, cheerful yellow, overlooking the blooming greenhouse in the backyard.

“He’s perfect,” Elena whispered, rocking him gently in the wooden chair beside the window.

“He’s exactly like his mother,” I smiled, wrapping my arms around both of them.

The house, which had once felt like a museum, a prison, and a battleground, finally felt like a home. The shadows of the past were entirely banished by the bright, chaotic, beautiful reality of our new family.
