Chapter 13 - The Social Media War
With my mother and sister locked in county jail awaiting trial, my extended family went into full panic mode.
My aunt Sylvia, my mother's sister, took to Facebook, posting long, dramatic paragraphs claiming that I had suffered a "military breakdown" and unjustly framed my innocent mother and sister to steal their money.
The post was shared dozens of times. My phone started ringing off the hook with angry relatives demanding explanations.
I didn't argue with them. I didn't type out a long, emotional defense.
I simply took a screenshot of the public court docket listing the felony charges, the denied bail, and the forged checks, and posted it as a reply. I added a single, chilling sentence: “If anyone else wants to defend the women who tortured my wife and stole her money, I will gladly hand your names over to the prosecutor as potential accomplices.”

Within ten minutes, my aunt deleted her entire post.
The phone calls stopped immediately. The extended family, realizing the severe legal and criminal reality of the situation, abandoned my mother and sister like a sinking ship. They were utterly, completely isolated.
