Chapter 6 - The Siege

The armory was a masterpiece of lethal preparation.
Walls lined with assault rifles, tactical shotguns, body armor, and crates of explosives surrounded them.
“Julian is a fool for thinking he could trap me in my own house,” Silas said, grabbing a heavy Kevlar vest.
He tossed a tactical rig to Nadia, who caught it effortlessly and began strapping it on.
“They will bring breaching charges,” Nadia warned, loading high-capacity magazines into her pouches.
“We have maybe ten minutes before they blow that steel door off its hinges.”
“Then we don’t wait for them to knock,” Silas replied, loading a modified automatic shotgun.
He walked over to a secure terminal on the desk and typed in his master override code.
The screens flared to life, showing live feeds from hidden cameras all over the mansion.
Julian was screaming orders in the cellar, wrapping his bleeding hand in a torn piece of silk.
Elena was cowering in the corner, surrounded by heavily armed strangers.
“Look at the driveway,” Nadia pointed at one of the monitors.
Three heavy armored trucks were parked outside, blocking the main gates.
“They are setting up a perimeter. They don't plan on letting anyone out alive.”
Silas grabbed a remote detonator from a locked drawer, his eyes gleaming with a terrifying darkness.
“If they want my house so badly, they can have it in pieces,” he declared.

He armed the internal defense grid, activating the hidden explosive charges planted in the mansion's structural pillars.
“We are going to blow the floor right out from under them,” Silas explained, handing Nadia a gas mask.
