Chapter 8 - The Mistress Arrives

Just as Donna was hysterically throwing her clothes into garbage bags, a sleek black car pulled up the driveway.
Jessica stormed up to the front porch, carrying the two-year-old boy on her hip.
She looked furious, completely unaware of what was actually happening.
She barged into the house, demanding to know why Brian's credit cards were shut off.
She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me standing in the foyer surrounded by police.
Jessica looked from me to Donna, realizing that the secret was completely out.
To my surprise, she did not look guilty.
She looked at me with immense superiority and told me to sign the divorce papers so Brian could marry his true love.
I burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the empty hallway.
I pulled a document from my purse and handed it to Jessica.
It was a copy of the deed to the townhouse she lived in.
Brian had never told her that the townhouse was actually rented, and the lease was in my name as well.
I had already canceled the lease that morning.
Jessica's smug expression vanished as she realized she was going to be homeless by the end of the week.

She turned on Donna, screaming that she was promised a life of luxury.
I stood back and watched the two women who ruined my life tear each other apart.
